Shifter Bezel May 31, 2015

This part looks good once installed but will take some work to get it there. I used the UPR bullet style metal shifter bezel ring and the hole in the carbon fiber shifter bezel is slightly too big for the ring so it won't lock in properly. I tacked the ring in with super glue and then used epoxy putty to seal it in. The hole for the lighter receptacle is also slightly too large so I wrapped the receptacle in electrical tap to get a tight fit. I got a shifter boot ring from an old junk bezel and used RTV rubber to secure the boot to the ring. I then used epoxy putty and strip styrene .040 x .250 to replicate the heat stakes that hold the boot to the carbon fiber bezel. The last problem I encountered was that the lower left prong that hold the bezel to the center counsel was slightly out of position so I used some tin snips to cut off about 1/4" from the side closest to the cup holder. This allowed all four prongs to seat in the center counsel.
